As Baptists, missions have always been an important part of First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro.  One of the first organizations within our congregation was the Women's Missionary Society.  Our women have long led the way in helping our church be a strong supporter of home and foreign missions and continue to do so today.

First Baptist Church has also continuously reached out within our own community.  Our congregation has sponsored four other congregations.  We have also helped launch a number of local mission groups including:  Wilkes Cares, Developmental Day School, Pastoral Counseling Center, Samaritan Kitchen, and Wilkes Dental Clinic.

Missions, however, is not just a part of our history.  Almost every local non-profit board has at least one member of First Baptist Church serving.  We also partner with Samaritan Kitchen, Rainbow Center, Pastoral Counseling Center, Wilkes Prison Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, Blue Ridge Opportunity Council (BROC), and Ministry of Hope.  Along with this, our congregation helps families in need by providing food, clothing, shelter, and utility help.
